Hilary Ellen Meyer, 51, of Belmont Massachusetts passed away at home on February 23, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with substance use disorder.
Hilary was born on April 23, 1974, in Weymouth, MA to Jack and Mary Jean Meyer. She graduated in 1992 from Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall in Waltham, MA and went on to have a long and very successful career as a professional dog groomer. Hilary was an incredibly talented musician and artist and over the years was a lead guitarist and song writer in several local bands. When she wanted to relax, she loved riding her Harley-Davidson on backroads.
Hilary will be remembered for her humor, deep compassion for others, and huge heart. When she was in recovery she was deeply committed to helping others maintain their sobriety. She loved her family, friends, many quirky rescue dogs, and writing and playing music. She was loved and cared for by many who saw her courage and resilience in the face of formidable challenges.
Hilary is survived by her father Jack Meyer, her sister Heather Reynolds and her family (husband T.H. and son Jackson) of Saratoga Springs, NY. Hilary’s beloved dog Gabe is in the care of her family. She is also survived by her long-time companion Nicholas Salvucci. She was predeceased by her mother, Mary Jean Meyer and her treasured dogs, Shiloh and Butchie.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday June 20th from 1pm to 3pm at Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main Street, Watertown, Massachusetts.
